Kayak camping is an immensely popular activity in British Columbia, and once you’ve tried it, you’ll understand why!
Overnight rentals in either single or double kayaks are available all month in June.
During August and July, you can rent a single kayak for an overnight trip any day of the week, but double kayaks will only be available for overnights during weekdays (Monday-Thursday), not on weekends (Friday-Sunday).

Please note that our mandatory full immersion gear policy for all paddlers is in effect in April and October, and/or until the water temperature is above 13 degrees Celsius.

- All overnight kayakers in Say Nuth Khaw Yum(Indian Arm) Park must abide by BC Parks Rules and Regulations:
- Overnight renters must fit all of their equipment inside the hatches of the kayak. Equipment can not be strapped to the deck of the kayak as this can reduce stability and efficiency
- Guests can not tow additional equipment/coolers/paddleboard/rafts etc. behind the kayaks
- Pets of any kind are not permitted on overnight trips with Deep Cove Kayak
- Guests must depart Deep Cove with enough time to reach their destination before we close for the evening. This is based on time of year and destination. Please discuss with our bookings staff if you have any questions.
- It is strongly recommended that all overnight kayakers receive kayak specific training around capsize and recovery, navigation, weather forecasting and trip planning.
- Children (under 16 years of age) can not outnumber adults on an overnight trip
- Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by multiple adults at a minimum 2:1 ratio
- A minimum of 2 adults are required for all overnights unless the solo adult has kayak specific certification
- Paddle Canada Level 1 Skills as a minimum
Twin Islands
Twin Islands is a 5.5km paddle from Deep Cove Kayak. Twin Islands is a great destination for kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding on a longer day paddle or a short overnight trip from Deep Cove. These two islands earned their name because they share a sandy beach connecting them at low tide.
Granite Falls
Granite Falls is a spectacular place to camp. It’s huge waterfall flows down and over rocks for 150 ft and makes a truly fantastic place to lay your head. Camp south of the falls and then head up to the Indian River estuary to check out where the river meets the ocean. If camping here is busy or full you can head to Berg’s Landing where the campsite is usually quieter. 1 leg of this journey can take up to 3.5 hours to complete. Paddling experience is important. There is no cell reception at Granite falls. We recommend bringing, a VHF radio or satellite communication device.

This is the pinnacle of kayaking in this B.C. When heading further afield, we recommend enrolling on a Paddle Canada Level 2 Course first. Enrolling on a Paddle Canada Course will upgrade your kayaking skillset and understanding of the ocean substantially, ensuring safer trips.
