Rent today and experience the unmatched beauty of BC, just minutes from the City. 

As a new paddler, you’ll begin with an Intro to Paddling session, included as part of your rental, to ensure you’re well-prepared for a safe and enjoyable experience. This mandatory session covers the basics of paddling and is a great way to feel confident on the water.

Recognizing if you are an experienced or new paddler:

Experience means:

• You’ve had formal instruction from a qualified instructor within the past 3 years.
• You have paddled a sea kayak with a rudder at least three times in the past year.
• You understand your limitations and paddle in conditions appropriate to your skill level.
• You know how to perform both a self rescue and assisted and have practiced them within the last two years.
• You are aware of the ocean’s dangers. Winds, currents and changing conditions.

If you are missing a few of these key points please reach out to us and we would be happy to discuss your options.
Experience does NOT mean:

• You rented a sit-on-top kayak at a resort once.
• You’ve paddled a kayak at a lake last summer.
• You vaguely remember how to re-enter a kayak after capsizing because you watched a video.
• You are a good swimmer so you will be safe.

These session are mandatory for all new and inexperienced kayakers in the months of April and October.

Policies

All new paddlers renting kayaks in Deep Cove will be required to take part an introductory paddling demonstration. Learn more here.

All paddlers must wear full immersion gear when paddling between September 30-October 27. Wetsuits are included at no extra charge with your rental/lesson.

Please note that we have a range of ADULT sizes for wetsuits and preferred sizing is based on availability on a first come first serve basis.

Children are required to wear a wetsuit, but we do not have the capacity to accommodate children size wetsuits. Any children that can not fit an adult small wetsuit will need to provide their own wetsuit.

Children (under 16): MUST be in a double kayak with an adult (19+).
Children (under 5): MUST have 2 adults present on the water with them at all times – Call to confirm.

Deep Cove is one of the most beautiful places on the planet, and it’s only a few minutes drive from the City! This paradise is best experienced by kayaking. Rent with us for an unforgettable time!

We have one of the largest rental fleets in Canada, with a diverse range of kayaks suitable for beginners to advanced paddlers. Our knowledgeable staff can assist you in picking the right watercraft for your needs, including plastic or fiberglass options, single and double kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and surfskis. We accommodate people of all shapes and sizes.

As a new paddler, you’ll begin with an Intro to Paddling session, included as part of your rental, to ensure you’re well-prepared for a safe and enjoyable experience. This mandatory session covers the basics of paddling and is a great way to feel confident on the water.

You can rent for 2 hours or more, take the whole day, or opt for a multi-day rental if you want to explore further afield or camp down Indian Arm (Say Nuth Khaw Yum Provincial Park) in our expedition-worthy double kayaks. If you’re unsure where to go, our staff can offer advice on the best places to see wildlife, enjoy scenic views, and paddle through calm waters.

We also offer Season’s Passes for either single kayaks, double kayaks, surf skis or stand up paddleboards from $499 for the season.

All kayak rentals include paddle, PFD, whistle, spray skirt, bailing device and 15m of tow line, and all single kayaks have double bulkheads for safety if capsized.
