The Penguin Plunge is an annual community event in Deep Cove, North Vancouver. Sponsored by Deep Cove Kayak & Coast Outdoors 🐧
We kick off every New Year with a cold ocean plunge at Panorama Park. Live music, Food, and a Bonfire all add to this fun and festive event fundraiser. 2024 marks the 42nd Annual Plunge – North Shore Article.
Fun Fact: The First Penguin Plunge happened on Jan 1st 1983, outside Deep Cove Kayak!

Event Starts: 12:30 pm
Costume parade: 1:30 pm
The Plunge: 2pm
Note: Parking will be difficult on New Year’s Day and we recommend using public transport, carpooling, or parking further afield. Parking info
Registration Booth
You will find a sign-in desk at Penguin Plunge – Come see the nice ladies at the tent just above the playground, and they’ll get you signed up. This is where you can pick up your free Penguin Plunge pin/badge. Penguin Plunge T-Shirts also available.
As done in previous years, all donations will be going towards the Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue (RCMSAR). We are forever grateful for their hard work and for keeping us safe out on the water! We can take any donations at the registration booth.
