Paddle Canada Level 2 Skills

This 32 hour course builds on the skills introduced in the Paddle Canada Level 1 Skills course. More in-depth Navigation, Trip Preparation and Weather Interpretation are covered on a daily basis. New paddle strokes, rescue techniques and rolling is introduced. Paddling moves from sheltered waters to more dynamic conditions. This is a course that builds the confidence to go from day-paddling in sheltered waters to more of a coastal touring environment. This course is available in two formats. Weekend: 4 sessions over two weekends. Weeknight: 5 sessions camping in the Howe Sound.

Who should enroll on this course
This course covers a broad range of skills and is not suitable for a first time paddler, as such the following prerequisite skills/experience must be met.
- Paddle Canada Level-1 Skills certification or equivalent skill and knowledge.
- Experience: At least 3, one day long, kayaking trips in different locations.
- Wilderness First Aid (16 hours) with CPR strongly recommended.
