Seth Putnam-Rea is the Assistant Paddling School Director at Deep Cove Kayak and a certified Level 2 Instructor with Paddle Canada. He has extensive experience coaching children. Seth is supportive, friendly and has endless energy! He has competed in Surfski races around the world such as the Canadian Downwind Championships, The Gorge Downwind Champs, The King and Queen of the Bay in New Zealand and the 2019 Ocean Racing World Championships in France! Seth prides himself on creating a positive learning environment where children feel supported and cared for and where they are always learning and having fun!
Intermediate (Age 10-13)
| Prerequisites | Paddling Experience is strongly recommended. Ideally participant has completed the Beginner Jr Jets Course. |
| Core Skills Taught | Introduction to performance paddling, Forward stroke instruction, Self rescues, Surfing waves & technique mentoring. |
Advanced (Age 13+)
| Prerequisites | Must be proficient in skills outlined in Beginner + Intermediate. |
| Core Skills Taught | Forward stroke analysis, Complex self and assisted rescues, Race tactics, Applying a structured training plan, & Tide race paddling. |
