Rescues in Dynamic Water
Advanced Capsize Recovery Sea Kayak Lesson
This course is designed to build on your capsize recovery skills and practice in more dynamic conditions that you might actually capsize in! This course runs at the Ambleside Tide Race in West Vancouver. Your professional instructor will guide you through a review of rescue and re-entry techniques and ensure you practice in challenging but safe conditions of your choosing.
Rescue techniques covered will include:
- TX Re-entry
- Parallel park and pump re-entry
- Scramble re-entry
- Paddlefloat re-entry
- Adaptive re-entries for incapacitated swimmers
After participating in this course, we believe your confidence to deal with a capsize in dynamic conditions will greatly increase!
*This course runs at the Ambleside Tide Race in West Vancouver, NOT in Deep Cove. Equipment transport available free of charge but passenger transport is not provided by Deep Cove Kayak.

Who should do this tour
Anyone with Paddle Canada Level 1 or equivalent experience.

$25 non-refundable registration fee (per person per lesson). 14 days notice before first day of your lesson is required to reschedule or to cancel for a refund (not including the non-refundable $25 registration fee)
