Job Title: Guest Services Representative

Position Overview:
The Guest Services Representatives play a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences by assisting customers with reservations, processing payments, suggesting routes, and promoting our various services. In this role, you are expected to actively recommend additional services, such as tours, lessons, and to refer customers to other locations when appropriate to meet their needs. Your goal is to maximize customer satisfaction and contribute to the overall growth of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Reservation Management
- Assist customers in making and modifying reservations.
- Provide accurate and helpful information about availability, pricing, and policies.
- Payment Processing
- Handle payments accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Address billing inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Service Recommendations
- Recommend appropriate services such as guided tours, lessons based on customer interests and needs.
- Suggest options that enhance the customer experience (e.g., paddling clubs, seasons passes, equipment rentals, boat upgrades).
- Referral Coordination
- Inform customers about services offered at other locations and direct them as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of offerings across all locations to provide accurate referrals.
- Customer Guidance
- Offer route suggestions and provide safety tips tailored to customers’ skill levels and preferences.
- Recommending various watercraft depending on customers needs
- Procedural Accuracy
- Ensure all forms, waivers, and required procedures are completed before customers proceed to the Beach Crew.
- Verify customers’ readiness, including equipment checks and understanding of policies.
- Customer Experience
- Foster a welcoming environment, ensuring customers feel valued and supported throughout their visit.
- Actively seek feedback and address concerns to improve services.
- Group boat matching
- Ensuring customers have appropriate boats to match the skill levels of the group
- Workplace Cleanliness
- Ensure a clean and sanitary workplace by performing regular cleaning duties, including the upkeep and restocking of restroom facilities.
- Customer Check-In Upon Return
- Performing follow-ups with customer upon return
- Retail management
- Restocking all retail merchandise
Requirements:
- Confident speaker in person and over the phone
- Comfortable working with a Point Of Sale software on PC and tablet
- Able to relay vital information
- Comfortable standing and walking for a 8-hour shift
- Strong customer service
- Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Level 1 Skills Certification (can be provided prior to first shift)
- Comfortable talking on phone calls
- Patient teacher
- Comfortable working in a tight workspace
- Enjoy working in a team
- Maximum time away from work in July and August is 2 weeks.
